Obverse:
Older veiled portrait of Queen Victoria with the engraver's
initials T.B. in raised letters below the shoulder.
The obverse inscription reads:
VICTORIA DEI GRA BRITT REGINA FID DEF
Reverse:
Three shields bearing three lions passant for England, lion rampant
for Scotland, and harp for Ireland. In the angles are a rose, shamrock and thistle. Behind are a pair of crossed diadems,
one surmounted by an orb, one bearing an eagle, the other a cross. The entire design is topped by a crown, and all within a border formed by a garter inscribed "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE"
For the first time on a florin, the value "two shillings" appears.
The reverse legend reads:
ONE FLORIN TWO SHILLINGS
