Nine Coin Uncirculated Set

The coins in the baby gift pack are specially examined and selected before packaging. They are all superior to

A New Dawn
Who, at he dawn of the twentieth century and accustomed to the stability of the nineteenth, could have dreamed of the enormous changes to the coinage that would be made in the last hundred years of the millennium? But even before the century was half-way through, gold and silver had disappeared from the circulating coinage and, as the century progressed, the historic £sd system was transformed into a decimal system of 100 new pence to the pound. Since then, coins have continued to become smaller and lighter.
Who, then, given all this and given, too, the giant strides made in the fields of science and technology over the last century, dares to predict what the next will bring? It is, indeed, hard to imagine what further changes lie on the horizon but these coins, milestones in the stream of time, are the first United Kingdom coins to bear a date of the twenty-first century and are minted specially for babies born in the first year of the new millennium.

15 August 1950 Princess Elizabeth Alice Louise was born to Her Majesty the Queen.
27 August 1950 The BBC transmits television pictures from overseas for the first time, in a broadcast from Calais.
10 December 1950 Bertrand Russel won the Nobel Prize for Literature.
