Guernsey £5 and £1 Coins
Guernsey has issued two coins in one as part of the Millennium Masterpiece Collection.
The Five Pound coin forms an outer ring or disc, into which the One Pound coin will neatly fit.
Each of the 24 countries taking part in the Millennium Masterpiece Collection has incorporated one or more novel features into the coin which it has contributed to the collection. Guernsey has created two coins in one.
Description - Five Pounds
Obverse
A miniature version of the fourth portrait of the Queen, by Ian Rank-Broadley, at the bottom below the hole. The obverse inscription reads:
ELIZABETH II BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY
Reverse
The sea and rays of the sun, symbolically depicting the twentieth century. The reverse inscription reads:
