Coronation Jubilee Design
2002 saw the golden jubilee celebration, but 2003 sees another golden jubilee, the 50th anniversary of the coronation, which took place in 1953.
Gold Silver and Base Metal Versions
As from 1990, the five pound crowns have been produced in a number of different versions, and in three different metals. An ordinary uncirculated base metal version will be available from banks and post offices later in the year. A superior specimen version of this will be available from early January, in an attractive and informative folder. In previous years this has been priced at £9.95, and the same price applies this year.
A proof version of the above cupro-nickel coin will be available as part of the 2003 Proof Coin Sets.
