2008 Baby Gift Set

Unfortunately the price wasn't quite good enough for us to offer them at a discount, so we are offering them for sale at the same price as the Royal Mint at £19.95.

As with all of our lower priced stock items we aim to despatch within 48 hours so if you were to order it on a Monday you could have it for a Christening at the weekend!

Royal Mint Policy
We have left the following paragraph in simply to inform you of the position we were in prior to the beginning of April 2008.

For regular and new customers, who buy "Royal Mint Baby Packs" from us, we have to offer an apology.
Because of changes in the Royal Mint's attitude and wholesale terms, we ended up not being able to source quantities of the 2008 Baby Coin Set Packs at prices which made it worth the effort to stock.
This is possibly because the Royal Mint's Coin Club wants the entire UK mint coin market to itself, or there may be other reasons.
Whether our guess is correct that it is deliberate policy, or whether it is an extension of the Royal Mint's mysterious marketing methods, it remains true that the Mint have, in 2008, surpassed their usual levels of inscrutability and incompetence.
In previous years, we have got through 200 to 300 annually, taken in batches of 50 each time. This is the first recent year that we have bought none.
In previous years, we did not feel able to discount the Mint's prices on this annual product, simply because there would have been nothing left for us, yet we feel the Mint's price on the Baby set is excessive. You get the same coins as in their Brilliant Uncirculated Set, but get charged more because it is slightly different packaging. Some would call this a rip-off, we refrain from this accusation, but would not argue with those who thought so.
This applies also to the 2006 Baby Sets.

Announcing a New Arrival!
If you have a new arrival in your family, a brand new set of mint condition coins from the year of his or her birth makes an ideal gift.

Ten Coin Uncirculated Set
It is too early yet to state with certainty exactly how many and which coins will be included next year, but the 2008 set:-
Contains the eight circulating coins, from the Two Pounds to the Penny, plus an extra Two Pound and Fifty Pence, but please note they do not contain either of the Crowns.
The coins in the baby gift pack are specially examined and selected before packaging. They are all superior to the mass produced coins which are made for circulation because of the absence of bag marks and scratches.
They are also packaged in a colourful attractive and informative folder, a charming way to mark the arrival of a new addition to your family.
The package is contained in an outer sleeve, silver foil blocked on creamy white:-

Naturally, the eight coins are visible from both sides.
A coin set from the year of a child's birth can become a treasured keepsake and lifelong possession.
