Angel of the North
‘I have touched the highest point of all my greatness’
For this coin, the principal element is the Angel of the North, a powerful symbol of the North East of England. The quotation, 'I have touched the highest point of all my greatness' comes from William Shakespeare's HenryVIII, and is intended to provide an umambiguous link with sporting achievement while also making a playful reference
to the colossal size of the sculpture.
