The 'Series Two' 2015 Australian Chinese Lunar Calendar Year of the Goat Australian silver bullion coins were released on 1st September, 2014. We received our first order on 5th September.
The Chinese year 4713 starts on the February 19th, 2015. The goat (or sheep) is the 8th animal in the lunar cycle. It is seen as particularly lucky as the number 8 symbolises peace and prosperity in Chinese culture. The goat is also thought to bring harmony and growth.

Mintage Figures
The one ounce coins have a mintage figure of just 300,000. As in previous years, we expect the one ounce coins to be extremely popular.
The 1 kilo, 10oz, 5oz, 2oz and 1/2oz coins will be produced on a "mint-to-order" basis, meaning there is no limit to the amount that will be produced. Once production closes at the end of 2015, the Perth Mint will announce each of the different sizes official mintage figures.
Australia first issued a one ounce silver bullion coin, the Kookaburra, in 1990.
In 1999, it was decided to issue a silver Chinese Lunar Year series of silver bullion coins, following the success of the gold versions which started in 1996.
10kg Silver Coin - Update
A maximum of 150 10 kilo coins were produced on a mint-to-order basis. We were originally told that they had sold our before their release, but sold out within days of their release. A few months later the Perth Mint contacted us to let us know they were now available, meaning
We received the 10 kilo silver coin on 26th May, 2015.
We have large quantities of most sizes of the 2015 Australian coins.
Many people ask us for next year's coins in approach of Chinese New Year, and as the goat represents harmony and prosperity, we expect it to be very popular.
The Australian coins are made to very high standards of design and production. Each coin also comes in its own protective plastic capsule.
