2015 Royal Mint Year of the Goat Silver Bullion Coin
Reverse of 2014 Royal Mint Year of the Horse One Ounce Silver Coin
The Royal Mint began their series of lunar calendar coins in 2014, with the Year of the Horse. The Year of the Goat is the second coin in the series, and the eighth in the lunar cycle.
The Perth Mint already have a lunar coin series which is incredibly popular.
The goat (or sheep) is the 8th animal in the lunar cycle. It is seen as particularly lucky as the number 8 symbolises peace and prosperity in Chinese culture. The goat is also thought to bring harmony and growth.
We do not yet know what the design on the coin will be, but we expect the obverse to featured the fourth portrait of the Queen.
We are not currently stocking the proof version. If we get a large volume of enquiries regarding it, we may look into stocking some.
