An Apology

We owe an apology to many of our potential and existing customers.
About two years ago, we decided to put our product catalogue and our entire business on the internet.
We have since spent many hours burning the midnight oil adding more pages.
Towards the end of last year, we started to find that although we could keep up with the orders - we post most of them out within 24 hours - we were struggling to keep up with the enquiries.
Our philosophy is to try to write a definitive answer to frequent questions, and incorporate them into a page of our web site. This way, we believe, we shouldn't need to answer the same question again.
The theory sounds good, but in practice, we find the more information we put on site, the more questions we get asked.
As of July 2000, we are recruiting extra help specifically to answer enquiries, leaving the boss free to write more web pages, and run the rest of the business.
We will also be adding one or two extra computers so that we can split the job of answering e-mails.
While we are at it, we expect to add an extra computer in the showroom so that visiting customers can view our web sites while they are here.
Once we have completed these changes, we expect to be able to answer enquiries even quicker than before.
