Featured is silver denarius of Antoninus Pius, the first of the Antonine Emperors, an age which, with the exception of the reign of Commodus, many modern historians describe as a 'golden age' in Rome's history.
The Obverse features a portrait of the Emperor, and the Reverse features Italia seated on a globe with a cornucopiae and sceptre. 'Cos III' indicates that the coin was struck during the Emperor's third consulship, c.140 A.D. This coin is a slightly scarcer type
