Obverse of Gordian III Sestertius
Aurelian

Reverse of Gordian III Sestertius
Two Soldiers with Globe and Victory

Aurelian 270 - 275 A.D.

Featured is a billon antoninianus of the great soldier-emperor Aurelian. The reverse featuring two soldiers holding a victory and a globe is a reference to Aurelian's role in restoring the Empire's territorial integrity following the seccession of the Palmyrene and Anglo-Gallic provinces. This specimen is flat in places as it was originally struck, but is otherwise very sharp with excellent detail on both sides.
