Brief British Guiana History
British Guiana was the name of the British colony on the northern coast of South America, it is now known as the independent nation of Guyana.
Guyana went on to become independent of the United Kingdom on 26 May 1966.

Many of the coins issued for use in British Guiana were also produced for circulation in Great Britain.
