2015 Chinese Silver Panda One Ounce Coin Obverse

China started issuing silver pandas as one ounce bullion coins in 1997. The coins had a fineness of 99.9%.
The concept of the one ounce bullion coin was to provide an easy way to purchase convenient small quantities of bullion silver in the form of coins.
Additionally, one ounce coins, are an attractive design, made to appeal to collectors.
The denomination, or face value, is ten Yuan.

First Metric Bullion Coin

From 2016 the panda coins have quit the troy ounce system and adopted the metric system instead. The change means the weights have altered slightly; a one troy ounce coin (31.1035g) is now a 30g coin. Both the gold and silver pandas are now measured in grams.

Obverse
The obverse of the panda coins features the very beautiful Temple of Heaven building in Beijing.

Reverse
Each year the panda coin feature a different panda design, making these a very interesting and collectable coin.
