Cuban Coins
There are two types of Cuban Currency, the Cuban Peso (known as CUC) and the Convertable Peso, used by tourists and for higher value purchases. The ordinary Cuban Peso is non-convertable and is used by the government to help control its citizens and economy in this authoritarian, communist country. It is used by Cubans to purchase staple goods.
