New Design
For Edward's reign there was a new design on the halfcrowns, which was retained for the whole of his short reign.
Obverse:
Bare head of King Edward VII, facing right.
The obverse inscription reads:
EDWARDUS VII DEI GRA BRITT OMN REX
Reverse:
A large crowned quartered shield within a garter bearing the inscription "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE".
The reverse legend reads:
