The main economic activity of the Isle of Man used to be tourism. These days it appears to be issuing coins and stamps. For the tiny size of the island and its population (68,000), it certainly issues plenty of coins. Most of the modern ones are designed, minted and marketed worldwide by Pobjoy Mint. We believe that Manx coins are over-produced and over-marketed, but they appear to be popular with many people, judging by the number we get offered. We also think that many of the newer issues are slightly expensive at issue price, and believe that we offer most of our coins at below original issue price.
