Overdate?
We noticed recently that a fellow dealer was selling and overdate 1684/3 5 Guinea piece in similar condition to ours for £8,750, this prompted us to look at our specimen to see if ours was an overdate. We noticed that there are some unusual features in the internal field of the '4', but they are too ambiguous for us to conclude with any certainty that ours is an overdate. We have provided a closeup photo of the date for you to make your own mind up. We have however, priced it as if it was an ordinary S#3331 SEXTO Five Guinea Piece and we are offering it for sale on that basis.
