Victoria Jubilee Head Design
In 1887, the portrait on Victoria coins, except for bronze, was changed, for Queen Victoria's golden jubilee year, to an older portrait, showing Victoria wearing a small crown. Most of the reverse designs were also changed. The jubilee design was used until 1893.

Obverse:
Older jubilee portrait of Queen Victoria with the engraver's initials J.E.B. in raised letters on the shoulder truncation.
The obverse inscription reads:
VICTORIA DEI GRATIA

Reverse:
Four shields in a cruciform arrangement bearing three lions passant for England, lion rampant for Scotland, and harp for Ireland. Between the shields are a pair of crossed double-ended sceptres, one surmounted by orbs topped with crosses, the other bearing a thistle and a harp. Although the florin was a relatively new coin, only having been introduced in 1849, the value two shillings or florin was dropped.
The reverse legend reads:
BRITT REG FID DEF

Edge
The edge is milled
