Awarded to those who served in the Australian Army, Navy, Merchant Navy and Airforce during World War II. Also awarded to non-military or Merchany Navy personel who served in operational areas. The colours on the ribbon represent the RAN (Dark Blue) the Merchant Navy (Red), The Australian Army (Khaki) and the RAAF (light blue).
