Only Four Coins Issued
Not all values of coins are issued every year, it depends on demand. George VI died of lung cancer on 6th February 1952 having been a heavy smoker almost all of his life. This may also had an influence on the production of coins in 1952, pennies had been in plentiful supply since 1949, so few had been issued in 1950 or 1951 either.
The only four denominations issued in 1952 were sixpence, threepence, halfpenny and farthing. The sixpence is a slightly scarce or "key" date, having the lowest mintage of any recent sixpence.

No Official Coin Sets
Way back in 1952, the Royal Mint were not in the habit of issuing proof or uncirculated coin sets every year. Proof or specimen coin sets were only issued on special occasions such as coronations and jubilees. It was not until 1970 that they started to issue coin sets every year for sale to collectors.

1952 Coin Sets Contain:
The four pre-decimal coin types, sixpence, threepence, and halfpenny and farthing only. Halfcrowns, florins (two shillings), shillings in two versions - English and Scottish, were not issued.
All attractively packaged in a specially designed plastic case.
