The 1992 silver proof coin issued from Niue is to commemorate the 1996 summer olympics in Atlanta. The obverse of the coins shows the Niue Coat of Arms whilst the reverse shows a sprinter and the legend "olympic games 1996".
The 1996 Atlanta olympics was the first summer games to be held separately from the winter games.
