Eight Coin Uncirculated Set
Contains the eight circulating coins, from the Two Pounds to the Penny, but please note they do not contain the Crown.
The coins in the baby gift pack are specially examined and selected before packaging. They are all superior to
the mass produced coins which are made for circulation because of the absence of bag marks and scratches.
They are also packaged in a colourful attractive and informative folder, a charming way to mark the arrival of a new addition to your family.
The package is contained in an outer sleeve, silver foil blocked on creamy white:-

The other side of the card has spaces for:-
The Generation Gap
More than twenty five years have passed since we bade farewell to Britain's "cherished but baffling" £sd coinage and a whole generation has grown up entirely unfamiliar with the system whereby twelve pennies made a shilling and twenty shillings a pound. But it was a system which had served us well for more than a thousand years and which naturally played a significant role in pre-decimal folklore. Little wonder then that today's classrooms still ring with young voices chanting the familiar and well-loved nursery rhymes recalling the large bronze penny, the popular "silver" sixpence and the impressive halfcrown.
Nursery Rhymes Including Coins or Money
If I'd as much money as I could tell,
I never would cry young lambs to sell;
Young lambs to sell, young lambs to sell,
I never would cry young lambs to sell.
The king was in his counting-house
Counting out his money;
The queen was in the parlour,
Eating bread and honey;
The maid was in the garden,
Hanging out the clothes,
When down came a blackbird,
And pecked off her nose.
But then came a jenny wren
And popped it on again.
World Cup Rugby £2
The 1999 set may be particularly interesting for future rugby players, as the two pound coin it contains is the special design for the 1999 Rugby World Cup.
Scottish £1 Coin
The pound coin included with this set features the rampant lion of Scotland as its reverse type.
Naturally, the eight coins are visible from both sides.
A coin set from the year of a child's birth can become a treasured keepsake and lifelong possession.
