• Nine Coin Uncirculated Set
  Contains the eight circulating coins, from the Two Pounds down to the Penny, plus the extra Fifty Pence, but please note they do not contain the Crown.
  Although not struck to the same standards as the proof coins, these coins are also specially examined and selected before packaging. They are all superior to the mass produced coins which are made for circulation because of the absence of bag marks and scratches.
  They are also packaged in a colourful attractive and informative folder.
• Ten Coin Proof Sets
  "Proof" coins are specially struck with great care and attention. The dies are highly polished on the flat surfaces, with a frosted finish on the design, the blanks from which the coins are struck are also polished before striking (minting), so that the finished coins show their designs to the absolutely best effect. The raised relief parts of the design have a frosted finish, and stand out from the background (field) which has a mirror finish. Each coin is carefully inspected prior to packaging, and is guaranteed to be perfect and without any blemish.
  This years proof sets contain:

  • The new Marconi Two Pound coin.
    
  • Northern Ireland Pound with Celtic Cross and Broighter Collar
    
  • The other seven circulating coins, £2, 50 pence, 20 pence, 10 pence, 5 pence, 2 pence, and 1 penny.
  
  
• Standard Proof Set
  All superbly packaged in a newly designed plastic case, and housed within an attractive wallet.
• Gift Pack Proof Set
  As the above Proof Set, but with a booklet, and housed in a completely redesigned presentation pack.
  The presentation of the deluxe set is rather clever. The coins themselves are housed in plastic pack which is mounted in an outer frame. The coin set can be rotated within the frame so that either side of the coins can be viewed.
  The frame features its own built in retractable stand, so that it can stand freely by itself on a shelf, mantelpiece, cabinet or desk. It also has a ready made "keyhole" slot at the top back, so that it can be hung on a wall.
  Below the coins there is a space to accept one of a number of pre-printed cards, all of which are headed:-
  "UNITED KINGDOM DELUXE PROOF COIN COLLECTION"
  
• Executive Proof Set
  As the above Proof Sets, but with a booklet, and housed in a completely redesigned presentation pack, with space for personal mementoes.
  Last year (2000), the executive proof set sold out at the Royal Mint without ever going on open sale. It was then followed by delays while the supplier of the new packaging design tried to iron out problems. We managed to get a very small supply, but despite the Royal Mint sell-out, we found these not to be very popular, if you want them, we will have them.
• De-Luxe Proof Set - In Red Leather Wallet
  The de-luxe proof set has returned by popular demand!
  Contains all nine denominations, from £5 Crown down to Penny.
  Complete in red wallet made of real leather.
