In 2015, The Royal Mint issued a £20 to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II becoming the longest reigning monarch.

Queen Elizabeth II

During the late hours of 9th September, 2015, Queen Elizabeth II is set to become the longest reigning British head of state. The title was previously held by Queen Victoria, who reigned for 63 years and 216 days. This will make Queen Elizabeth not only the longest reigning British monarch, but the longest reigning female monarch. Celebrations for the event will begin on 10th September, 2015.

Design

The reverse design is by artist, Stephen Taylor, and is the first time one of his designs has been used on a coin. The coin shows all five definitive portraits of the Queen, showing how she has matured through her reign.

The obverse of the coin has the fifth portrait of Her Majesty, by Jody Clark.

The coin comes in a presentation pack.
