Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 90th birthday on 21st April, 2016. She is the first British monarch to celebrate the milestone birthday.
The coin was designed by the painter and sculptor, Christopher Hobbs. His mosaics have appeared in Westminster Cathedral. The design was inspired by the rose of England and The Queen's love of flowers. It shows nine roses, one for each decade of her life.
The obverse of the coin shows the fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, by Jody Clark.
