The Royal Mint have issued a fifty pence coin to celebrate Team GB at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

These coins were not offered to trade and so we were only able to obtain a very small supply.

The 2016 Rio Olympics begins on 5th August, 2016. This coin is endorsed by Team Great Britain and is the only official coin to support the team.

Design

The reverse was designed by the consultancy, Uniform, and shows a swimmer. The coin celebrates the spirit of the Olympians.

The obverse is the new portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, by Jody Clark.

The coin comes in a colourful presentation card.
