Antigua and Barbuda is a former British colony, and now an independent commonwealth nation consisting of two islands, namely Antigua and Barbuda. They are situated on the eastern edge of the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean Sea. Rum, cotton and molasses are amongst the local produce of the islands, however tourism is now making an important contribution to the economy.
