Cyprus
Cyprus, also known as the Republic of Cyprus, is an Island in the Western Mediterranean. Since 1974, Cyprus has been divided between Turkish Cyprus and Greek Cyprus. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is only recognised as an independent nation by Turkey however. The capital of both states is Nicosia. Tourism is amongst the main industries of Cyprus with popular holiday destinations including Paphos, Coral Bay and the 'upbeat' town of Ayi Napa. Cypriot culture is divided by the Greek and Turkish Cypriots.
