Classic Emerald & Diamond Cluster Ring

This impressive emerald cluster ring started out as a special order remount job for a customer.
Even though we say it ourselves, the new version looks many times better than the original.
The original ring was claw set, with about 16 small diamonds, and the centre emerald had become slightly chipped. We had to re-polish the emerald, fortunately only losing a few points (hundredths of a carat) in weight. If I remember correctly, the owner described it as "stunning".
We have now added this model as one of our standard ring designs. We believe it is best suited to emeralds, but will also be available in other centre stones.

Dimensions
The ring holds a centre emerald approximately 7.5 to 8.0 mms long, by 6.0 to 6.5 mms wide.
The surrounding ten diamonds are each about 3.35 mms in diameter, giving a diamond weight of about 1.25 to 1.50 carats.

Design
The rim or box setting is particularly suitable for emeralds as they are a beautiful but slightly delicate gemstone, and it is sensible to set them in a style of mount which provides them with protection against accidental damage.
We have carried the rim setting through to the surrounding diamonds to create a classic but clean style, which is at the same time impressive because of its size and proportion, and elegant because of the simplicity of the styling.
For our stock, we would make this ring in 18 carat gold, with a white gold head and a yellow gold shank, but naturally we can make it in all yellow gold, all white gold, or all platinum as required.
