1757 Frederick the Great Battle of Rossbach Medallion

Featured is a bronze medallion commemorating the victory of King Frederick the Great of Prussia's forces over the French and Austrian Army in the Battle of Rossbach in 1757. During this Battle, a Franco-Austrian Army of some 42,000 was defeated with heavy loss by a Prussian Army almost half this size. Prussia was an ally of Britain during the Seven Years War, which perhaps goes some way to explain why the medallion is in English instead of Latin or German. This was probably made in Britain to celebrate a victory over Britain's enemies by one of her allies.
