New York Fall Show Visit
As you can see, this is an old image from the days of black and white photographs. It was taken at the 1983 J. A. Fall Show in New York.
Pictured, from left, are Michael D. Roman, Jewelers of America Chairman, Lawrence Chard, Chairman of Oppenheimer Jewellers [now Chard (1964) Limited], & Bernie Esterman, President of Esterman Estate Jewelers of Washington D.C.
The writer, Lawrence Chard, was at first refused admission to the Los Angeles Show, because in addition to retailing jewellery, we also design and manufacture it. The door staff in charge of admissions thought we might be on a spying mission to steal American ideas and designs!
