Mounted Gold Half Sovereigns
Half Sovereigns were often worn on watch chains. Numerous coins still survive from those days. Usually the mount was individually hand made in a scroll design, and was soldered directly onto the coin, as in our photographs.
They later became popular for ladies to wear as pendants or charms.
