Blue and White Diamond Drop Pendant

Special Order
This customer had quite a good idea of what she wanted, she telephoned us with her requirements and we got to work immediately. Our first job was to find two blue diamonds; one princess cut and one pear shaped, the exact same shade of blue - which is always a challenge!

Once we had sourced the stones we emailed them over for her approval - luckily for us, they were exactly what the lady wanted so we could move onto the next step almost straight away. A specialist model maker was then given the specifications and made the model in silver. This silver model was then cast in platinum and sent to be hall-marked.

The final stage was for the stones to be set in the platinum mount. As with all special orders we were extremely pleased with the results and are pleased to say that our customer was too!

Easy As That?
The process described above all sounds extremely straight-forward and we would like to say that this is always the case, but unfortunately not! There are various complications that we can encounter...the lady may not have liked the first set of diamonds; the model may not have been exactly what we were expecting; the stones may have chipped whilst being a set; or the end result may not have been what the lady wanted!

We always ask that people give us plenty of time to make special orders, and that they are patient while we are making them. A lot of the jobs are out-sourced to specialists so delays are sometimes beyond our control. This particular pendant took two months from start to finish, which is probably about average for this kind of job.

Specifications
The overall weight of this pendant is 5.8g and it contains almost two carats of diamonds. It is shown here on an 18" platinum spiga chain.

Although all our diamonds are natural and untreated unless otherwise stated, the coloured diamonds in this particular piece are enhanced.
