(Unsigned) Tina Anderson (Attached Microsoft Word Document) |
Offer #1 is for about $63 Million worth (at wholesale) for $6,8 Million
Offer #2 is for about $40 Million worth (at wholesale) for $3.7 Million
Offer #3 is for about $114 Million worth (at wholesale) for $26,6 Million
Offer #4 is for about $60 Million worth (at wholesale) for $6,5 Million
Making the total 56,500 carats (over 11 kilos) $277 Million worth for only $43.6 Million.
Apart from other obvious things, we would estimate that offers #3 and #4, for a total of 26,500 carats of 12 carat rough probably exceeds the quantity of this size ever mined.
In our calculation above, we have estimated that the recovery rate from rough to polished would be 50%, we have used Rapaport listings which usually get discounted by 10 to 50%, and we have ignored polishing costs.
Even after accounting for these factors, there would be $140 Million available from a $43.6 investment. Lets say polishing cost about $6 Million, that leaves a $90 Million profit, even paying their full asking price.
