James Ferrell
A graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and recipient of many art-related prizes, Mr. Ferrell joined the Engraving Department of the United States Mint in Philadelphia in August of 1989. His commemorative coin credits include designs for the 1991 Mount Rushmore half dollar (reverse), the 1991 Korean War one dollar (reverse), the 1992 Christopher Columbus five dollar (obverse) and half dollar (obverse and reverse), and the 1993 Bill of Rights half dollar (obverse).
The undersigned hereby certifies this coin as a genuine 250th Anniversary Thomas Jefferson Commemorative Coin struck in accordance with legislation passed by Congress and signed by President Clinton on December 14, 1993, into Public Law 103-186. This historic collectible is produced by the United States Mint and was specially designed and created to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Thomas Jefferson's birth. This coin is legal tender of the United States.
