US Dollars
The US Mint first issued dollars in 1794 following the Coinage Act of 1792. The first dollars were produced in silver and are now highly sought after by collectors. In 1971 the first US Dollars were minted that contained no silver or gold, instead they were now made of the same copper-nickel clad composition used for the dime, quarter, and half dollar. The Eisenhower Dollars have a diameter of 38.1mm and weigh 22.68g meaning that they were never that popular as legal tender coins. In 1979 the Dollar was produced as a smaller, lighter coin - the Anthony Dollar.

Anthony Dollars
Anthony Dollars are named after the lady featured on the coin, women's suffrage campaigner Susan B. Anthony. Anthony was the first non-fictitious lady to appear on US coinage. Originally designed as a hendecagon, it had to be re-designed to fit in US vending machines. The coin itself still appears hendecagonal as the rim is bordered with a hendecagon.

Designs
As shown in our photograph, the obverse is an engraving of the head of Susan B. Anthony with the inscription IN GOD WE TRUST and the date. The reverse features an eagle over the surface of the moon and the inscriptions:
