Victorinus
268-270

Victorinus was a general in the army of Postumus, and following the latter’s murder, and the brief reign of his short-lived successor Marius, was elevated to the throne of the secessionist Gallic Empire.
Little is known about this man, except that he spent most of his reign fighting other usurpers and the Central Roman Empire, before being murdered by an officer in his army, apparently for seducing his wife. His mother Victoria managed to influence the accession of her son’s successors, Tetricus I and II, who were destined to be the last emperors of the Gallic Empire before its reconquest and reintegration into the Roman Empire Proper by Aurelian.
