2009 Henry VII £5 Crown
In 2009 there is a British Five Pound Crown, for the 500th anniversary of the accession of Henry VIII in 1509.

2009 Crowns £5 for £5
Each year, both the Royal Mint, Westminster Collections, and others, offer a loss-leader of a £5 crown for £5, post free. This is to get you onto their mailing lists, and into their clutches, usually so they can market their more profitable items at you. Here at Chard, we don't believe in this type of aggressive marketing, and some years back, we stopped offering the ordinary circulation crowns because we recieved too may complaints about the quality of their finish, even though this is a factor which is beyond our control.
We noticed the Royal Mint's offer which is restricted to one coin per household

The Royal Mint has received approval to issue an historic new British coin on the occasion of The Queen's Diamond Wedding. The £5 coin will be available for one year only and is sure to be a real collector's item. As we are expecting unprecedented demand we are issuing a limit of one per household and have introduced a special application procedure to allow you to order your coin in advance. Don't miss your chance to be amongst the first to own one for no more than the face value of £5. The Queen's Diamond Wedding £5 coin will be sent direct from the Royal Mint in 2009, in time to celebrate The Queen's 80th birthday on 21st April.

Gold £5 Crowns
For current pricing on the gold proof versions of any of the Five Pound Crowns, from 1990 onwards, please use the £5 Gold Coins pages of our "Tax Free Gold" website.

British Platinum Piedfort Crowns
Starting in 2004, the Royal Mint has issued platinum piedfort proof crowns. These are naturally very expensive. We can usually supply them new to order if required, but we prefer to source lower priced ones from the secondary market. Please contact us if you are interested.

Platinum Bullion Coins
Platinum coins are subject to VAT in the UK, so we have not until recently offered new platinum bullion coins, however, we can now obtain and supply them to special order. If demand is sufficiently high, we will start to carry them in stock.
