In 2014, The Royal Mint issued a £5 crown to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the death of Queen Anne. The last Stuart Queen, Queen Anne reigned over the political union of England and Scotland in 1707. Commemorative Crowns are issued almost every year, with a unique design for each.

Obverse

The obverse reverts back to the fourth portrait of the Queen designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, and introduced in 1998.

Reverse

The reverse of the coin features an elegant miniature portrait within an ornate border incorporating her 1707 Royal Arms, with the inscription:
QUEEN ANNE DEI GRATIA
1665 – 1714

Value

We think the silver proof piedforts, gold plated silver proof and platinum piedfort too expensive to make them a worthwhile purchase. April 2014 Stock Update: We received the silver proof coins on 4th April, 2014.

When compared to the Royal Mint price of £80.00 you will make a saving of £5.05 per item when ordering from us.

Wanted

We play an active part in the secondary market for many platinum, gold and silver products, including commemorative crowns so we would be more than happy to purchase a 2013 (or any other date) crown from you. British Platinum Piedfort Crowns

Starting in 2004, the Royal Mint has issued platinum piedfort proof crowns. These are naturally very expensive. We can usually supply them new to order if required, but we prefer to source lower priced ones from the secondary market. Please contact us if you are interested.
