Crowns Index

In 2014, The Royal Mint issued a £5 crown to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the death of Queen Anne. The last Stuart Queen, Queen Anne reigned over the political union of England and Scotland in 1707. Commemorative Crowns are issued almost every year, with a unique design for each.

According to The Royal Mint, Queen Anne reigned in an age of artistic and cultural advancement and left behind political stability and prosperity. To celebrate her life and legacy, The Royal Mint has struck the 300th Anniversary of the Death of Queen Anne £5 Coin.

Obverse

The obverse reverts back to the fourth portrait of the Queen designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, and introduced in 1998.
ELIZABETH II D G REGINA F D FIVE POUNDS 2014

Reverse

The reverse of the coin features an elegant miniature portrait within an ornate border incorporating her 1707 Royal Arms, with the inscription:
QUEEN ANNE DEI GRATIA
1665 – 1714
