Design
Bimetallic coins are a fairly recent innovation. The combination of a fine (.999) silver centre and gold-plated fine silver outer ring makes this quite an unusual coin.
This coin itself is part of an Australian trilogy, the past, present and future.

Obverse
A very clean looking portrait of the Queen in the silver inner circle, with the legend occupying the gold plated outer silver disc, reading:
