Whether it's the great minds that have inhabited our shores, the rich body of our landscape, the vibrant spirit of British life, or the arrival of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012, as a nation, we have a lot to be proud of. You can now pay homage to the heritage of Britain and to London 2012 with the Celebration of Britain Silver Series which captures the Mind, Body and Spirit of the nation. This is the first ever collection of UK £5 legal tender coins from the Royal Mint and is available as an 18-coin collection, three 6-coin collections or as 18 individual coins. The collection is divided into three series - The Mind Series, The Body Series and The Spirit Series. Each coin is struck in sterling silver to Proof quality and features specially commissioned reverse designs, created by Shane Greeves in conjunction with the Royal Mint Engraving Team, celebrating a particular aspect of Britain's greatness.
An informative and illustrated Storycard accompanies each coin which will be issued one per month commencing in June 2009 through to the end of 2010. This is a magnificent collection that you can keep forever to remember the passion of London 2012 and is the perfect way to capture the spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Even 400 years after his death, William Shakespeare remains one of the celebrated of writers. The Globe Theatre has become a hugely popular focal pointforthe study enjoyment of shakespeare's plays. The quotation, 'we are such stuff as dreams are made on', is taken from The Tempest and aims to sum up the hopes and ideals of sports men and women in approching the London 2012 Games.

Did you know?
The Globe Theatre in London associated with William Shakespeare. It was built in 1599 by shakespeare's playing company, the Lord Chamberlain's Men, and destroyed by fireon 29 June 1613. A second Globe Theatre was rebuilt on the same site by June 1614 and closed in 1642. A modern reconstruction of the Globe, named "Shakespeare's Globe" opened in 1997. It is approximately 230 metres (750 ft).
