The UK's longest reigning monarch meets another milestone event in 2017 - her Sapphire Jubilee. Elizabeth ascended the throne on 6th February, 1962.
The obverse of the coin shows the fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, by Jody Clark.
The reverse was designed by engraver, Glyn Davies. It features the Imperial State Crown, worn by Elizabeth after she was crowned Queen. The text reads "My whole life, whether it be long or short, devoted to your service. SAPPHIRE JUBILEE - 1952 - 2017".
