A Celebration of Britain Silver Series
Official Product of London 2012
Whether it’s the great minds that have inhabited our shores, the rich body of our landscape, the vibrant spirit of British life, or the arrival of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012, as a nation, we have a lot to be proud of. You can now pay homage to the heritage of Britain and to London 2012 with the Celebration of Britain Silver Series which captures the Mind, Body and Spirit of the nation. This is the first ever collection of UK £5 legal tender coins from the Royal Mint and is available as an 18-coin collection, three 6-coin collections or as 18 individual coins. The collection is divided into three series - The Mind Series, The Body Series and The Spirit Series. Each coin is struck in sterling silver to Proof quality and features specially commissioned reverse designs, created by Shane Greeves in conjunction with the Royal Mint Engraving Team, celebrating a particular aspect of Britain's greatness.
An informative and illustrated Storycard accompanies each coin which will be issued one per month commencing in June 2009 through to the end of 2010. This is a magnificent collection that you can keep forever to remember the passion of London 2012 and is the perfect way to capture the spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

New coins celebrate Britain
Published Date: 22 June 2009
A set of coins celebrating Britain - from Stonehenge through to the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics - have been launched.
Stonehenge, Big Ben and the Angel of the North appear on the first coins to be released in the Royal Mint's 18-strong Celebration of Britain Silver Series.
The £5 Stonehenge coin has gone on sale at £27.45, with the following 17 coins being released every 28 days. All feature the London 2012 logo.
Dave Knight, the Royal Mint's commemorative coin director, said: "People are very proud of Britain, its heritage and its history. The Celebration of Britain Silver Series is a collection of coins that embraces this pride and celebrates our nation's achievements in a way that has never been done before on the UK's coinage."
The Queen, Buckingham Palace and Big Ben are all symbols of British identity, according to 80% of Britons who also said that British history is an important part of the national identity.
Of the 1,460 people interviewed for the Royal Mint, 40% also felt that the 2012 Games would help increase public pride in Britain.

Platinum Bullion Coins
Platinum coins are subject to VAT in the UK, so we have not until recently offered new platinum bullion coins, however, we can now obtain and supply them to special order. If demand is sufficiently high, we will start to carry them in stock.
